Course Overview

For students who will be in Year 11 in September 2010. This 3-day course includes 2 nights in residence at Imperial College. Students gain an insight into learning at University, and will engage in a selection of practical Biology, Chemistry and Physics activities designed to support the Triple Science Curriculum.

This course is for Aimhigher students and is fully funded by HEFCE and Imperial College.

Applications are now open online via this website. They will be considered after the deadline of 30th April 2010.

Course Aims

Topics covered will compliment classroom learning by providing hands-on practical learning with equipment, materials or a range of tuition not easily accessible in schools. Social activities and careers guidance, supported by university mentors will provide a taster of University life aimed at encouraging aspirations towards Higher Education and continued study of STEM subjects.

Pre-requisites

Students must be Year 11 *Aimhigher Triple Science GCSE students at the time of the course. *Aimhigher denotes that funding is designated to support students who are able and underachieving or who may be at a disadvantage which could potentially have a negative effect on achievement.
