Course Overview
|
This course welcomes G & T (Gifted and Talented) students from the UK and overseas to study at Imperial College - a world-class research institution - for one week or two. Students may choose to stay in residence during the week and across the middle weekend. Each week, participants select their preferred subject strand to attend (please see attached flyer with 'overview of strands' for further details):
Week 1:
- Beginners Chemistry with CSI (for ages 11 to 14)
- Astrophysics
- Space Science and Robotics
- Maths and Financial Modelling (for ages 15 and 16)
- Medicine - NEW STRAND (for ages 15-16)
Week 2:
- Invention to Market (Business)
- Space Science and Robotics
- Maths (for ages 11 - 14)
- Forensic Science
- Chemistry Synthesis (for ages 15 and 16)
- Physics (for ages 15 and 16)
Each week, teams will present the results of their investigative work to an audience of families and educators. |

Course Aims
|
Students may choose to attend this course for 1 or 2 weeks either residential or non-residential. (The residential option is available to students aged 12 to 16 at the time of the course)

Pre-requisites
|
This course is for students who are: highly motivated in studying science; high achievers in the top 10% of ability range; and typically achieving A* to B across their studies.
Applicants will be required to provide evidence of their academic ability in line with the above requirements.
