HEFCE Y10 STEM Summer School
I am writing to thank you for such a fantastic week at the HEFCE Year 10 Summer School. I had a really great time learning lots of new skills, making friends and learning what university life is like. I really enjoyed the maths lectures and doing areas of maths which I hadn't done in my GCSE. It was fantastic to be taught by the different professors and the students who were wonderfully helpful and knowledgeable about their subject. It was great that they were really willing to share their knowledge with me. Please thank them for this. I also enjoyed the evening activities as this was a chance to get to know our team well, as well as being able to unwind, relax and have great fun. I would really like to be able to attend similar courses if they are run in the future. Once again thank you very much for a great time. Please thank all of the mentors and the SRA s who made my time at Imperial College really enjoyable and have made me think about going to university once I am old enough.

Aim Higher Programme
I am the Aim Higher Co-ordinator at Brentford School and I have been very grateful in the past to Exscitec for the courses offered to our girls as I think they have a positive benefit in terms of application to university and improving aspirations of those with no background in HE. The girls have always given very positive comments on the exscitec courses and we have used them every year since AimHigher programme started in school. I do strongly believe they are of considerable value to our students in so many different ways. Thanks for all your support over the years- it is much appreciated.

HEFCE Triple Science Course
Course:
When: 01/01/1900
Where:I am writing with many thanks for the science summer course I attended in September. I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of it, especially the experiments and activities we would not of been able to do at school. The course has really got me more interested in science and given me great motivation to push on with my GCSEs to give me the best possible chance of getting a place in University.Everything from the accomodation, meals and the chance to meet new people was brilliant and something I am extremely grateful for. Also I believe the mentors played a huge part in making the experience even more enjoyable by keeping us organised and how they were continuously cheerful all the time. Most importantly they helped us understand the structure of going through University and how to get there knowing what we might want to do.Overall the course has made a big impact on what my plans may be for the future and I would like to thank everyone who brought the whole course together.

Robotics day for Headstart First Edition students
Thank you very much for another enjoyable Robotics experience. We had excellent feedback from our Y9 parents at Parents' evening last night. "She didn't stop talking about it all evening. She really wants to go now to Cambridge/Imperial", "he was really stimulated by the whole day. Wants to do the Design & control systems IGCSE now" were typical comments.

US FIRST Project
Course: FIRST Robotics Competition
When: 30/09/2008
Where: Nationwide; (priced as indication of per student cost)I think FIRST in general gave us an amazing insight and I do believe that it has inspired me to pursue a degree in engineering. FIRST gave me a rewarding and fun insight into the world of applied mechatronics and robotics and it also taught me important values of working in a team in order to achieve a goal. I was fascinated by Engineering before participating in FIRST but it certainly cemented my choice to choose Mechanical Engineering as a degree.

Clothworkers' Mathematics Bursary Celebration
Hello Alan, it was great pleasure meeting you at last night's event and I congratulate you on the wonderful work that you have helped to deliver for so many young people. However, in my opinion these students are not the only beneficiaries. Maths undergraduates from Imperial College told me how much their presentational skills had improved. My sole student in receipt of a bursary is a splendid example to others in an AS class, particularly when working in groups. The ripples continue....

Year 6 & 7 Robotics Summer School
This is just a quick note to say that my daughter thoroughly enjoyed the Robotics Course last week. She seemed to get a huge amount from it, both from the academic side and the social side. My husband and I noticed at the plenary session how the topics covered bits of engineering, computing, physics and maths. These subjects are all well separated in her school timetable and she found it a delightful novelty to combine them in such practical applications as building the machines they made and parachuting eggs off the Queen’s Tower! From the comments she made during the week, and what we saw at the end, Alexandra also got more to grips with working in a team and ‘…. listening to what the others think.’ The adults (mentors, ‘helping teachers’ and programme managers) also came across as very supportive and their enthusiasm seemed to infect the children. ...Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that the whole week was a great success as far as Alexandra was concerned. Many thanks. Now my son wants to know if he can do the course next year when he’s in Y6!
